Trample

In Luke 10:19 Jesus says: "Behold, I give you the authority to TRAMPLE on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy,  and nothing shall by any means hurt you.".

I've read this scripture dozens of times but for some reason this time the word TRAMPLE stuck out to me so I decided to look up the definition.

TRAMPLE: to tread heavily on, roughly, carelessly; to DOMINEER HARSHLY OVER,  to CRUSH...

This verse displays the utter disgust that we should have for the enemy and it shows that we should not be lenient on them at all!

To look disgustingly down on and crush...

Too often, we as Christians find ourselves either running from the enemy or just trying to live life like the devil doesn't exist. Why have we become so complacent in this battle that we are more inclined to turn a blind eye and ignore the enemy as they ravage our families, our health, our relationships, our world??

We have become so numb to the fiery anger we should have towards Satan and his minions, that we've left the battle completely.

We look around and wonder why there is so much hatred, so much disease, and so much pain but yet have we have forgotten that by leaving the fight against the enemy, we've left ourselves and our world completely exposed to him! This world has become his playground and we see it everywhere we look!

It's time to get back into the fight and remind the enemy who we are in Christ. We are the Lord's power of attorney on this earth. Jesus commanded us to do what He did while on earth and that includes casting out demons, healing the sick, and TRAMPLING on the enemy at every turn with pure and utter disdain for him and his demons.

Let's pray that the Lord restores our holy indignation against the enemy and let's remind the enemy who they are dealing with!

To trample with utter disgust and crush the enemy. That is our calling as followers of Jesus Christ. That's what He did, and that's what we'll do.
